There were so many (at least 30 people that I know of) that worked and I didn't get their names - please email fran.stewart@gmail.com with the additional names -it would be very appreciated! And if any have more photos - please let us know. So many were working in different areas:
This year, the WV Make it Shine program paid for the trucks, dumping fees, trash bags and gloves for the day and will possibly do it again for a day next spring. Thank you! As you can see from the photos, WV DOH and DEP were very supportive! Doddridge County Solid Waste Authority donated water and sodas for the day's volunteers, and Spurgeon Funeral Home donated cookies. Many volunteers donated desserts to share. Hap Farr provided a worker and gas for the pick-up. Virginia Nicholson promoted this day and got the word out through the Herald Record. Thanks to the Clarksburg Exponent-Telegram also for publicizing us. Shirley Williams provided that large wooden sign at Rt 18 and Main Street along with much organization. Thanks to Gilbert Neely for the music!! (Does make work go faster, doesn't it? <G>) Thank you to West Union Water Plant for the storing and delivering of our equipment and checking on us during their busy work-day! |
